Since opening, we’ve been dedicated to making a positive impact in our community, working to break down barriers where we can. Over the past few months, we’ve spent time with local care homes, including joining Nelson Lodge in St Neots for Christmas carols and songs. We’ve also partnered with Ferrars Hall in Huntingdon, where we support their weekly “Knit and Natter” group, knitting baby hats for the maternity unit at the local hospital and scarves for the homeless charity.
We reached out to the wonderful community of St Neots for our Christmas toy appeal, and we were overwhelmed by the generosity of toys, colouring books, pencils, and chocolates donated for children spending Christmas in the hospital.
As funeral directors, we play an essential role in the communities we serve. But we believe that our role should extend beyond moments of loss. A good funeral director is one who actively engages with their community, helping, volunteering, and building relationships. It’s important to us to bridge the gap between the times when people only see us during their most difficult moments and when they get to know us personally. We believe that to be a trusted funeral director, it’s essential for people to feel like they know us on a personal level. While we are often associated with death and sadness, our goal is to make people feel comfortable reaching out to us—like they’re calling a friend for support.
We’re excited for what 2025 has in store for us here at Serenity and are already planning community activities for the year ahead. With Easter just around the corner and summer bringing even more opportunities for fun, we can’t wait to share it all with you. Stay tuned—it’s going to be an action-packed year for our whole community!
