Annette Gray of Hemingford Grey Huntingdon sadly passed away on 3rd January whilst in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In accordance with Annette’s wishes, a private funeral service will take place.
Along the quiet canal she sailed,
Where soft winds brushed the sky,
Boats drifting gently on the water,
As days and worries passed her by.
The towpath knew her steady pace,
The ripples knew her name,
Reflections dancing in the light,
Though each day never quite the same.
Now she sails a calmer water,
Where the current carries her free,
Beyond the bends, beyond the reeds,
To a peaceful, open sea.
And when the canal lies still and bright,
And boats glide softly through,
Her memory moves upon the tide,
Forever close, forever true.
